Established in 2006, Melbourne-based Hisense Australia Pty Ltd is the local subsidiary of Hisense Company Ltd of Qingdao, China. Hisense Company Ltd. was formed in China in 1969 and has become a leading global manufacturer renowned for consumer electronics and household appliances, including LCDs, air conditioners and refrigerators.

The venue is the home of Victorian cycling, the Melbourne Vixens netball team and the Crazy Johns South Dragons basketball team.
