Outback Splash’s waterslides set for season opening

Outback Splash’s waterslides set for season opening
September 21, 2020

The operators of Perth’s Outback Splash have announced that its waterslides will be reopening as of 26th September.

With Western Australia's school holidays approaching, the Bullsbrook attraction will be reopening the waterslide tower that were first unveiled in November last year, offering 489 metres of state-of-the-art fibreglass waterslides.

While Outback Splash’s non-aquatic attractions have been in operation since 4th July, its two raft slides (‘The Wall’ and ‘Blackout’), the enclosed golden speed slide (‘Gold Rush’) and Western Australia’s fastest body slide (‘The Wedgie’) will now open for the holiday and summer season.

Other upgrades at Perth’s Outback Splash in the last 12 months include renovations to The Snack Shack kiosk, adding a large shaded outdoor seating area. Adjacent, new party cabanas are available for small-to-medium group bookings.

The Burger Bar (previously Cafe Iguana) has been refreshed with a must-see flat-wall art mural, thanks to famed local artist, Hans Bruechle. The menu features new chef-designed burger creations using fresh and locally sourced produce, as well as tasty loaded fries.

Perth’s Outback Splash is also in negotiations with a key brand to develop a new ‘Summer Bar’ area.

COVIDSafe Operations
Since re-opening its ‘year-round’ attractions, as permitted by the Western Australian Government’s Phase 4 restrictions in July this year, a number of major operational changes have taken place.

In an email to its Season Pass Members the business advised “we are committed to the health and safety of our team and guests”, and shared the following:

• As part of our COVIDSafe Plan, we’ll be monitoring guest attendance, so we encourage you to pre-book your tickets online.
• Hand Sanitising Stations are available in multiple locations, and there is increased sanitisation/cleaning of high touch surfaces - attractions, admissions and food service areas.
• All guests are encouraged to practice physical distancing and there will be reminders to everyone via signage and PA announcements to practice good hygiene.
• Please stay home if you are unwell, or are showing any Covid-19 symptoms such as difficulty breathing, sore throat, cough or fever.

Outback Splash also steered guests to its Safety and Restrictions page online and its Frequently Asked Questions page "to help plan your visit".

Showbags
With the Perth Royal Show no longer going ahead this year, Outback Splash has partnered with WA Showbags - Western Australia’s premier showbag supplier - to retail a number of classic showbags to children.

WA Showbags has been a key Perth Royal Show over more than 20 years.

Season Passes and Community Support
Outback Splash's 2020/21 Summer Season Passes officially went on sale in August, with Business Development Manager, Eli Barlow astonished by the community support.

Barlow advised “to those Guests who reached out and thanked us for freezing the Season Pass prices this year.

“As a local, family owned and operated business, we can't tell you how much that meant to us and we so appreciate your support heading into this Season.”

Perth amusement and waterpark Adventure World will also be reopening on 26th September. Its 2019/20 was halted in mid-March because of Coronavirus.
