Perth Theatre Company enters voluntary administration

After more than 30 years, the Perth Theatre Company (PTC) has gone into voluntary administration after failing to resolve financial woes

Announcing that the its business and financial model was un-sustainable in the current economic environment, Company Chairman Dr Saliba Sassine said the theatre had not been successful in finding a solution to its financial problems and had now decided to deregister the company.

In a statement, Dr Sassine stated "I would like to thank the voluntary board that has worked diligently and exhaustively to find a solution, but in the circumstances, has had no choice but to put matters in good order and organise for the orderly closure of the company.

"We would like to thank all the organisations, sponsors, patrons, the public and staff who have contributed to the history and achievements of PTC over the years.

"We would like to think that PTC is remembered for its contribution to the Western Australian arts community over more than 30 years and that its history and successes will be recorded as such."
