PLAE named as Official Gym Equipment Supplier for Australian Olympic Team
July 25, 2024

PLAE, a global leader in human performance solutions, has been named as the Official Gym Equipment Supplier for the Australian Olympic Team with the partnership underscoring PLAE's commitment to supporting athletes in achieving peak performance on the world stage during the games.

As part of this partnership, PLAE will establish a state-of-the-art facility within the Athlete Village exclusively for the Australian Olympic Team during the upcoming games. The facility will be outfitted with PLAE's state-of-the-art strength equipment including Custom ICONx Racks, and a comprehensive range of accessories designed to enhance athletic performance and recovery.

Shane Gooneratne, Chief Growth Officer of PLAE notes "PLAE's mission is rooted in inspiring human performance, and we are thrilled to extend our expertise to the Australian Olympic Team.

"Our commitment to excellence aligns perfectly with the dedication and determination exemplified by these athletes. We are honoured to support them not only with strength equipment and accessories, but with our experience in optimising human performance facilities through layout and design."

Based in the United States, over the past 15 years, PLAE has established itself as a trusted partner among elite athletes, professional sports teams, universities, and high schools globally. With its Australian office based on the Gold Coast, PLAE has built a reputation for delivering superior performance solutions tailored to the needs of Australian sports and educational institutions.

Gooneratne enthused "we are excited to bring PLAE's cutting-edge technology and commitment to performance enhancement to the Australian Olympic Team.

"This partnership represents a milestone in our journey as a global leader in human performance, and we look forward to empowering the Australian athletes to achieve their best performances at the Olympics."

AOC Chief Executive Matt Carroll said providing the right performance support was a critical ingredient in giving the Australian Team an edge in Paris.

Carroll adds “every one percent helps. The fact that we can provide our athletes with a customised in-house gymnasium within our allotment in the Paris Olympic Village is a major advantage. State of the art equipment located within the team environment is incredibly convenient for our athletes.”
