read morePublic Golf Facilities Australia (PGFA), the body representing managers of publicly-owned golf courses, has approved a new structure that will enable it to have a greater voice in the industry while removing the requirement for memberships and subscriptions and to have to see revenues from sponsorship.
Agreed at a special general meeting last month, the change to the structure of PGFA will make it less burdensome to have to operate as a Company Limited by Guarantee with elections, ASIC fees and directors’ insurance.
The new structure, approved by members, sees a committee formed with a new Terms of Reference agreed to by the board’s of PGFA board and Golf Australia.
Despite the changes, PGFA retains its objective to provide a voice for public facility owners and operators:
• Providing direction for best practice operations and to develop common strategies to generate greater participation and profitability
• Capturing vital benchmarking information to highlight the health of public golf
• Have access to golf’s key industry bodies to influence major growth initiatives.
PGFA members look forward to building a greater community of owners and operators.
PGFA will be at the Golf Business Forum on 30th and 31st July at the Melbourne Park Function Centre.
At its first AGM in October last year, PGFA farewelled inaugural President Matthew Day who stepped down as a result of his move from the Wembley Golf Complex to the Western Australia Golf Club.
He was replaced Jamie Clutterham from North Adelaide Golf Club.
