The last two months have brought to an end the private ownership of the Gold Coast's iconic Runaway Bay Sports Super Centre, with the completion of its sale to the Queensland Government.

The change of ownership has been a private success story, with a facility often called the 'foremost private sports facility in the world', and a 'worthy private rival' to the Australian Institute of Sport.

Being one of very few 'commercially sound' sports operations of this type worldwide; there has been much interest in the unique structure of the Sports Super Centre.

As the architect of this structure, the Managing Director Nick Pye has fielded continual interest nationally and internationally.

On the back of this success, and using his 20-years in international management positions, Pye has formed the independent sport consultancy Teamz International.

Beyond the advantages of a depth of knowledge into a benchmarking facility, what makes Teamz International distinctive is its combination of commercial experience with a high level of academic rigour. Pye's doctorate research into sport and social capital gives his consultancy an element of depth that the industry has been missing.
