read moreOne of Australia’s major car culture events, Red CentreNats is heading to Alice Springs for the Father’s Day weekend, 4th to 6th September 2020. Run by Summernats and the Northern Territory Major Events Company, the event is now in its sixth year.
Some of the nation’s best street machines join Australia’s leading extreme motorsport enthusiasts to compete in competitions that include “Show n Shine, Judging, Burnouts, Drags, Motorkana and Grass Driving” with multiple awards and prizes on offer at Central Australian’s premium inland drag facility.
Visitors are encouraged to get involved as the town comes alive and celebrates the automotive industry at its finest with the event promotion suggesting “Road trip with your mates, family or car club to the heart of Australia for the ultimate cruise of a lifetime. With many exciting activities, festivals, and must-see bucket list adventures ahead, jump in the car as all roads lead to Alice on the first week of September.”
Red CentreNats also features the experience of driving your highly modified, high powered, high decibel street machine on the actual streets of Alice Springs over four days of the event. Special dispensations granted by the NT’s Department of Motor Vehicles allow some very special cars to get their motors running on the roads, roundabouts and even the McDonalds drive thru.
Last year’s event featured Saturday night’s parade through the Alice Springs city centre of over 500 vehicles cheered on by visitors.
Presented in conjunction with sanctioning body Motorsport Australia, Red CentreNats also includes opportunities to volunteer as an official within the event competitions and to be a part of the great team delivering the impressive automotive event.
