revolutioniseSPORT releases white paper outlining megatrends influencing sport through the next decade
May 2, 2022

Sporttechnology leader revolutioniseSPORT has released a white paper outlining the megatrends within the sport industry, and guiding sport through the next decade to 2032.

Commenting on the trends, revolutioniseSPORT Chief of Staff, Emily Moore stated “as we move toward the 2032 Olympics in Brisbane, Australia, it is an appropriate time to consider the megatrends that will influence and shape the sporting industry over the next decade.

“The four megatrends considered are built around the core understanding that consumers want to deal with sports on their own terms, rather than those of the sport. This is a fundamental shift from the early 2000s, where the experience was firmly in control of the sport.".

The megatrends cover:

  • Personalisation
  • Gamification
  • The evolution of membership models
  • One source of truth and the rise of the API (Application Programming Interface) - technology that enables interaction, access, and data/functionality exchange between two eparate software systems.

revolutioniseSPORT Managing Director, Alex Mednis added “as society shifts and sport is changing, sports are competing against each other as well as against other hobbies and activities. We are entering a world that is on the consumer’s terms, not the sports.

“We need to ensure sport recognises the future state of play and prepares for that.”

revolutioniseSPORT is the industry leader in sports management technology in Australia, servicing over 250 state and national sporting organisations - more than all other sports membership vendors within Australia combined - as well as 15,000 sporting clubs across Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Cook Islands and the Asia Pacific.
