Royal Life Saving invites input to National Aquatic Industry Workforce Survey 2025
March 4, 2025

Royal Life Saving Society - Australia and the National Aquatic Industry Committee (NAIC) is inviting input to the 2025 National Aquatic Industry Workforce Survey, encouraging all members of the aquatic industry workforce to take part in the information gathering.

Aiming to better understand the current state and profile of the national aquatic industry workforce, insights from the will help shape the future of the industry by:

  • Building a comprehensive workforce profile
  • Identifying key challenges and opportunities
  • Strengthening advocacy efforts
  • Informing policies and programs that support and grow the workforce

This year’s Survey builds on the 2019 and 2022 editions, which contributed to key industry publications such as the National Aquatic Workforce Report 2023 and the National Aquatic Workforce Framework. These resources have been instrumental in raising the profile of the industry and advocating for its workforce.

Explaining its value, Royal Life Saving Society - Australia National Manager - Training and Workforce Development, Shaun Jackson advised “we’ve seen the positive impact the survey reports and the Framework have had in helping our industry to better tell its story over several years now. It has really made a difference, and we are very grateful to every individual and organisation for their support.”

This year’s Survey aims to capture how the industry is evolving in response to changing community needs and behaviours, workforce trends, and advancements in technology. The findings will be compiled into a comprehensive report to inform future strategies and workforce development initiatives.

Welcoming input from the aquatic industry workforce, Jackson added “we encourage you to jump on board again and take a few moments to share who you are, what you do and why.

“Your input is as vital as ever in a rapidly changing industry landscape; and don’t forget to leave your contact details to win a gift card.”

The survey is completely anonymous, but participants who choose to leave their name and email will go into the draw to win 1 of 20 x $150 Prezzee eGift cards.

Topics include:

  • Demographics (age, gender, cultural background, location, etc)
  • Roles (position, remuneration, nature of employment etc)
  • Qualifications and skills
  • Employment experience and priorities
  • Workplace conflict or aggression (psychosocial hazards)
  • Professional development
  • Industry insights

Now open for input, the Survey closes as of Monday 7th April 2025.
