read moreSwim Coaches and Teachers Australia (SCTA) have announced the appointment of Kevin Cook as its new General Manager.
Joining SCTA with an extensive background in business development and relationship management in the events, sport and fitness industries, Cook has most recently been working to secure significant investment into the Moreton Bay region as Principal Investment Lead at Moreton Bay Regional Council.
Previously he worked in the fitness and learn-to-swim industries including with Swim Fit on the Sunshine Coast from 2013 to 2018, and through owning his own fitness clubs and leading the development of The Sports Hub on the Sunshine Coast.
Noting that securing someone of Cook’s calibre and experience was a coup for the organisation and the wider aquatic industry, SCTA Chief Executive, Brendon Ward stated “I am excited about the ideas and enthusiasm that Kevin brings.
“His evidence-based approach to innovation and growth will be a game changer for us following what has been a time of disruption and uncertainty across the industry.”
Thrilled to be back in the aquatic industry, Cook (pictured) commented “it’s a such a great time to be jumping back into the aquatic industry.
“This rapidly changing landscape is driving exciting new innovations, technological advancements and exposing developing business and employment opportunities in new niche markets. SCTA are dedicated to exploring visionary initiatives that will advance the aquatic industry and I am incredibly grateful to be a part of that journey. “
Acknowledged the significant contribution and impact made by Sally McKitrick in the General Manager role over the past four years, Ward added “Sally expertly led our digital transformation and the evolution of our suite of education programs to be industry leading. This has provided SCTA with an outstanding platform to serve the industry and leverage future success.”
Based in the National Office on the Sunshine Coast, Cook started with SCTA on Tuesday 26th April.
