Grow 2022-2026 is a plan focused on the future, including the opportunities presented by 2032 Brisbane Olympic and Paralympic Games, and the Queensland Government’s commitment to reconciliation through Path to Treaty.
The Queensland Government is supporting Grow 2022-2026 with a $50 million investment over four years.
Queensland Minister for the Arts Leeanne Enoch advises “we have updated Creative Together to capture new opportunities and further realise the role of arts in supporting social, cultural and economic outcomes for all Queenslanders.
“Grow 2022-2026 will be boosted by additional funding of $50 million over four years, as announced in the 2022 – 2023 budget, activating new initiatives, events and experiences and bringing the total new investment in the Creative Together roadmap to almost $80 million since 2020.
“Grow marks the next stage of our journey, leading the way to Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games and strengthening the move to greater reconciliation through Path to Treaty.
“This will see Queensland fostering deeper partnerships and collaborations to strengthen and celebrate culture and country, and to acknowledge Queensland’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander arts as unique and powerful expressions of cultural identity.”
Robert Kronk Flipside Circus Chief Executive / Artistic Director said circus is a multi-modal form that thrives on collaboration, experimentation and risk taking.
Kronk notes “It's the perfect vehicle to engage and empower communities, to help tell our stories, and imagine and create the future.
“Over the next few years, we are looking forward to building on our organisation's strengths and expanding our engagements with young people, artists, and communities.
“We are also focussed on growing our collaborations with other artists/companies, our partnerships with communities, particularly in regional and remote Queensland, and our relationships with presenters around the country.”
Minister Enoch said Grow 2022-2026 followed on from the success of Creative Together’s first action plan, Sustain 2020 – 2022.
Grow 2022-2026 and the reframed Creative Together were developed through consultation with the sector and stakeholders.
