SPASA to stage industry stakeholder roadshows on new pool barrier standard AS1926.1

The commitment of the Swimming Pool & Spa Association (SPASA) to safety and innovation, will see the pool industry peak body stage a series of roadshows across the country during October explaining the updated Australian Standard AS1926.1.

SPASA explains “as the industry gets ready to embrace the new AS1926.1 standard, SPASA remains dedicated to supporting its members and ancillary industry participants by hosting an Industry Stakeholder Roadshow to present important aspects of the newly published standard.”

Sponsored by Polaris and Protector and supported by the Royal Life Saving Society - Australia, the Institute of Research and Learning and Master Builders, the events are aimed at

  • Pool Builders
  • Fencing Contractors
  • Service Technicians
  • Pool Barrier Inspectors
  • Suppliers of pool gates, latches, and other components
  • Fencing Companies (temporary and permanent)
  • Landscapers
  • Landscape Designers and Architects
  • Engineers
  • Consultants

The Roadshow schedule, with locations to be confirmed, is as follows:

* Queensland uses AS1926-2007 along with the MP3.4 Code. Northern Territory utilises AS1926.1-1993 and AS1926.2-1995. Queensland and Northern Territory stakeholders that operate across borders and wish to know more should register to attend the summary online session.
