read moreAn innovative new website has been launched by Sportsground, New Zealand's largest provider of websites of sporting websites. Called 'photosnap', the site allows people to print digital photos on canvases, mugs and other gift products.
Sportsground Chief Executive Mike Purchas explains "Sportsground already hosts thousands of photo galleries on the web for sports organisations, clubs and schools, some of which asked to be able to print copies of the photos they've uploaded. We thought âgreat ideaâ and developed Photosnap."
Sportsground shareholders include Sir Stephen Tindall and Graeme Avery, both of whom have a strong association with New Zealand sport.
Sir Stephen explains "Sportsground provides a wonderful service for New Zealand sport. It has made updating a website easy for thousands of clubs and organisations, from high performance through to the smallest club. It helps people communicate surrounding sport and now receives on average over 1 million page views per month."
Since its launch in 2008, Sportsground has added a number of free services, including online registrations for members and the ability to send eNewsletters as group email. Sportsground archives tens of thousands of photos that clubs will shortly be able to decide if they want to allow people to print.
Purchas adds "it will be over to each individual organisation to decide, (as) Photosnap also allows people at home to easily upload and print photos directly, many of which would otherwise sit on home computers and never see the light of day."
