read moreHaving attracted close to 30,000 spectators to their three games at the Singapore National Stadium in their inaugural Super Rugby season, the HITO-Communications Sunwolves, are looking to further engage with local fans and encourage home support in 2017.
With the Singapore Sports Hub announcing that tickets for the 2017 Super Rugby Season will go on sale on 13th December, fans will be able to purchase category tickets for all three 2017 season matches with a ‘two for one’ offer until 31st December 2016.
There will also be a 15% for single match category one tickets purchased within the promotional period.
Despite being one of the newcomers in the 2016 Super Rugby season, Sunwolves played three matches at the National Stadium, with a draw and two narrow losses.
In the upcoming 2017 Super Rugby matches, the Sunwolves will play a total of 15 matches, with three out of seven of their home matches at Singapore’s National Stadium - against the Kings (4th March 2017), the Stormers (25th March 2017) and the Sharks (20th May 2017).
Aiming for a higher profile in the Singapore market, Sunwolves player Ed Quirk has this week become the first sportsman to ascend the National Stadium roof since it opened in June 2014.
The Australian rugby union player, who plays as number eight for the Sunwolves, was awed by the view from the top of the National Stadium.
Quirk stated “I was really excited when I was told that I will be doing a rooftop walk on the world’s largest free spanning dome.
“When I was finally up on the catwalk, the view of the Singapore’s skyline was breath-taking, and it was just simply amazing to be able to get a bird’s eye view of the pitch I played on previously and will be playing on in a few months’ time.”
It is not known if management of the Singapore Sports Hub is planning to offer a stadium roof tour to visitors.
