read moreSwimming Australia has launched Inspire Australia Through Swimming 2025-2032, a strategic plan that sets the path forward for the organisation and the sport, with a focus on maximising the opportunity leading into the 2032 Brisbane Games.
The strategy covers how we will engage the broader ecosystem to lead, partner and influence through its three key pillars of ‘Strengthen’, ‘Grow’ and ‘Win Well’.
Its release follows a strategic review that identified how the sport can continue to grow - both in and out of the water - to ensure success at the upcoming 2028 and 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games while also encouraging news generations of aquatic athletes.
It also clarifies how the sport can lead and partner with member organisations to drive growth and success for all.
Introducing the strategy, Swimming Australia Chief Executive, Rob Woodhouse wrote “swimming has long cemented its standing as Australia’s leading Olympic and Paralympic sport.
“Additionally, Australian Sports Commission research has once again positioned swimming amongst Australia’s leading participation sports. Whether it’s learning to swim, doing laps at the local pool, training with a local swimming club, or being inspired by the Dolphins performing on the international stage, there is no doubt that Australians love swimming. Swimming plays an important role in our national fabric.”
Referencing the sport’s current strategy, Woodhouse added “we have collaborated with members and stakeholders to refresh the ‘2032 Our Decade of Opportunity Strategic Plan’ (reflecting) a sharpened focus on achieving a revised organisational purpose.”
