Sydney ‘smart gym’ marks Australia’s first Fitvisor installation

Sydney ‘smart gym’ marks Australia’s first Fitvisor installation
January 31, 2018

Australia’s first installation of Ronfic Fitvisor fitness technology has been completed at the soon-to-be-opened Strive Fitness in the Sydney suburb of Marsden Park.

Strive Fitness is among a group of innovative Australian fitness operators embracing the ‘smart gym’ concept - relying on computers and robotics to change the game in fitness and health technology.

As Strive Fitness Director Christopher Boctor states “we are one of a few gyms Australia wide with fully integrated strength and cardio equipment enabling our members to track all their workout data and store it in the cloud through our Smart Gym app.

“We are also the first gym in Australia to use robotic fitness technology which will be a complete game changer in the entire fitness industry. For example, the robotic technology in our Ronfic Fitvisor equipment can be used to spot assist our members for exercises such as the bench press, deadlift, squat, shoulder press and more.”

Strive Fitness have invested in state-of-the-art fitness technology to enable their members to track every workout from running and cycling, to lifting and finally to functional training.

The recent installation of strength equipment Ronfic Fitvisor, tracks every rep in every set and their cardio equipment which includes Technogym’s Excite range counts kilometers travelled and calories burned in a workout. The Strive 24/7 Smart Gym fitness app enables members to track all their workouts completed in and outside of the gym; is fully integrated with their state of the art smart strength and cardio machines; and also comes compatible with a wide range of fitness apps including MyFitnessPal, Strava, mapmyfitness, and Garmin.

Fitvisor is promoted as the world’s first smart robotic spotting machine which records and displays training information in real time. This machine accurately measures power output and allows members to select a recommended assistance force to assist upon failure. Ronfic prioritises safety and the Fitvisor allows for a safe workout environment where the user can push themselves beyond their limits with the help of futuristic robotic technology. With this safe and effective weight training, users can save time and effort in changing the workout type by freely controlling the upper and lower location of the safety bar.

Fitvisor Xim delivers isometric, isokinetic and isotonic training while Fitvisor Mini’s cable base training allows for both concentric and eccentric training (with more than 20 exercises available). Fitvisor is equipped with an optimum algorithm which considers variables such as the workout style of the user; the condition of the user (which changes everyday) and their change in strength. It provides the most effective assistance based on this algorithm. Users can check all the information at any moment before, during and after workout.

The team from Ronfic travelled from South Korea to bring the Fitvisor to Strive Fitness.

Busan South Korea-based RONFIC Co., Ltd. was established in 2016 by graduates of Korea’s Pusan National University bringing together a group of highly skilled and creative engineers to create innovative fitness equipment.

In 2017, 18 Fitvisor units were manufactured and delivered around the world while, for 2018, the company already has orders for 120 units.

Ronfic have exhibited their Fitvisor at SPOEX 2016 and SPOEX 2017 (Korea); FIBO FITNESS CON 2017 (Germany); and were the suppliers for the Training Centre of the national team of Korea in 2017.
