Cementing its position as Sydney's premier events and entertainment destination, The Star is showcasing numerous headline events as the principal partner of the 2014 Sydney Festival, which is running from 9th to 26th January 2014.

The Sydney Festival offers an array of events happening across the city enlivening and transforming the NSW capital with a bold cultural celebration based on the highest quality art and big ideas.

Within the Festival program, The Star's own premier theatre Sydney Lyric has played host the oldest love story in English opera, Dido and Aeneas from 16th January to 21st January 2014. The opera combines the exceptional talents of Berlin choreographer Sasha Waltz together with celebrated Baroque orchestra Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin in the reimagining of one of the world's great romantic tragedies.

The opera will transport the audience into a wondrous underwater realm, where submerged dancers glide gracefully around a glass aquarium that fills the stage.

Throughout Festival season, The Star has on offer a range of cuisine options available at signature restaurants Balla, BLACK by ezard and Sokyo.
