read moreAiming to bring together tourism, events and hospitality industries, the Melbourne Convention Bureau (MCB) has been working closely with Visit Victoria and the Victorian Tourism Industry Council (VTIC) in preparing the 2021 Victorian Tourism Conference.
Being held over two days on 21st and 22nd April at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC), supply-side of the industry will connect and collaborate on big picture ideas and practical advice on reigniting Victoria’s visitor economy and business in 2021.
nder the theme of Shaping the future of Victorian tourism, the conference will hear from industry leaders, exchange stories of innovation, and reconnect at an evening function hosted by VTIC in partnership with Showtime Events Group at Cargo Hall and Melbourne Public, South Wharf.
MCB Chief Executive Julia Swanson will be joining a panel of experts including MCEC Chief Executive Peter King, Marriner Group Chief Executive Jason Marriner, and Visit Victoria’s Director of Major Events Damien de Bohun in the session The lights are back on: Victoria leads the way in sport, culture, arts, music, innovation and knowledge.
The session will explore how Victoria’s event calendar remains critical to the success of the Victoria’s visitor economy recovery and what this means to the Victorian events supply chain.
MCB will also host a breakout session Business events: how to leverage this lucrative market for your business facilitated by MCB’s General Manager Sales Beverley Williamson and feature discussion from Ian McDougal, Business Development Executive at Tourism, Chadstone The Fashion Capital, and Jenny Mitten, MCB’s Director of Marketing & Communications.
