Tourism Council WA highlight value of Western Australian visitor centres

Tourism Council WA highlight value of Western Australian visitor centres
December 27, 2022

Tourism Council WA has highlighted that an estimated that 1.8 million people have accessed an Accredited Visitor Centre in person across Western Australia in the past twelve months.

Anticipating a huge summer boom as interstate holidaymakers return to Western Australia tourism towns this holiday period, Tourism Council WA Chief Executive, Evan Hall stated "Accredited Visitor Centres provide a valuable service to both their local community and visitors to the area, ensuring hidden gems and unique experiences are discovered and enjoyed by their guests.

“Drop into a Golden i Accredited Visitor Centre during the summer holidays to get the best local advice on what to do, where to eat and the inside knowledge on hidden local treasures."

Advising that Accredited Visitor Centres can be identified by a Golden i logo on a blue background, which signifies they have met the highest industry standards, Hall noted "entering a Visitor Centre when you arrive at your destination will provide you with a warm and friendly welcome from locals that are passionate about helping you.

“The staff will help you make the most of your trip by sharing their local knowledge of tourism operators that deliver memorable, high-quality experiences.

“Visitor Centres can also book tours and experiences on your behalf to ensure your holiday is spent relaxing instead of trying to find daily activities and the best way to book.”

The service offered by Visitor Centres is often made possible due to the generosity of local volunteers who donate their time and expertise to creating unforgettable holidays for guests to the area.

Hall went on to say "on behalf of Tourism Council WA, I would like to thank the staff and volunteers at Visitor Centres for their continued dedication to their local communities and the Western Australian travel experience."
