The initiative also aims to offer new opportunities for corporate partners to get involved in Wests Tigers – with Waterview in Bicentennial Park named as the founding sponsor of the Wests Tigers Women’s Initiative.
Wests Tigers Chair Marina Go said that the development of the Wests Tigers Women’s Initiative was a key priority for the club in the future.
Go explained “Wests Tigers is a club with a proud heritage and an incredibly exciting future. As a truly united organisation with shared goals both on and off the field, we have begun the process of focusing the organisation around a clear set of strategic imperatives“This includes a targeted approach to ensuring women feel welcomed, safe, valued and respected in our Wests Tigers Family. From grassroots to the board room, and everything in between, women play a key role in the success of Wests Tigers and we look forward to celebrating that involvement for many years to come.”
Club Director Rosemary Sinclair added "as with a number of strategies at Wests Tigers we are at the beginning of a sustained, strategic approach making women feel that they are respected and valued members of the Wests Tigers community.
“We’re committed to creating opportunities to make women welcome in the fun, the ups and the downs, of our game and continuing to recognise the important role and contribution women make to rugby league.”
