Woman hospitalised after fall at Robbie Williams concert at Sydney’s Allianz Stadium

Woman hospitalised after fall at Robbie Williams concert at Sydney’s Allianz Stadium
November 17, 2023

An elderly woman is reportedly fighting for life after a fall at Sydney's Allianz Stadium during a concert by English singing star Robbie Williams yesterday evening.

The woman, aged in her 70s, was rushed to Sydney’s St Vincent's hospital in a critical condition after she suffered head and face injuries in the fall on Thursday night.

Paramedics were called to Allianz Stadium on Driver Avenue at Moore Park about 10.15pm after receiving reports that a woman had fallen down six rows of seats in the venue’s upper tier at the end of the concert.

Sydney newspaper The Daily Telegraph reported that the woman was on the upper grandstand level of the stadium and was attempting to climb over seats, rather than using the stairs.

Venues NSW confirmed on Friday there had been a "serious incident" at the show.

A statement to SkyNews Australia advised “this is a terribly sad incident and our thoughts and wishes are with the patron and their family during this time.

"The patron was attended to immediately by venue staff and a nearby guest who is a qualified medical professional.

"Medics arrived shortly after and the patron was taken from the venue by ambulance to hospital."

Venues NSW said it was working with NSW Police and would provide further updates when more information was available.

Robbie Williams entertained a crowd of 38,000 people at Allianz Stadium on Thursday night as part of his XXV tour of Australia and New Zealand.

He will continue his tour next week with two shows at Melbourne's AAMI Park on Wednesday and Thursday.
