read moreThe Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Women’s Asian Cup 2026 will see Australia host matches in Perth, Gold Coast and Sydney from 1st to 21st March 2026.
This event follows Australia having hosted the Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) Women's World Cup 2023.
Women’s Asian Cup 2026 will bring together 12 of the top women’s national football teams from across Asia for the 21st edition of this prestigious tournament. The Matildas once again will be striving for success in front of a home crowd in this tournament. This follows their historic run to the semi-final stage of the FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2023.
The Australian Government has committed $15 million to support the successful delivery of the event and to boost women’s sport.
Qualification pathway for the 2028 Olympics
For the first time, the event will also serve as the Asian qualification stage for the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. The top 8 teams from the tournament will advance to the new Olympic Qualifying Tournament.
