The Italian city of Rimini is to play host to the 12th World Leisure Congress.

In light of the changes that are influencing contemporary lifestyles, the Congress has accepted the challenge of and committed itself to repositioning and interpreting the meaning of 'Leisure'.

With the concept of otium (the Latin word for leisure) originating in Italy, the host city will present talks about 'new leisure', while the event organisers predict "after the 2012 World Leisure Congress, leisure will never be the same again."

The 2012 World Leisure Congress will also deal with issues relating to leisure in the city, addressing the leisure transformations connected to increasing global urban development - all taking place where the model of urban civilization was born: Italy.

The Municipality of Rimini and the Convention Bureau della Riviera di Rimini are welcoming speakers and delegates to participate in this important event.

The 2012 World Leisure Congress is being held from 30th September to 3rd October at the Palacongressi di Rimini, Italy.

Upcoming deadlines for the event are:

Early bird registration ends 15th June.
Abstract Submission Deadline - 15th July.
Standard registration fees to 21st September.
Registration only on-site from 21st September.
