read moreYMCA South Australia has entered into a ground-breaking partnership with Fitness Australia that will result in recreation centres managed by the leading not-for-profit organisation undertake the Fitness Australia Quality Accreditation Program.
The Aquadome, located in the northern suburb of Elizabeth, will be the first facility in South Australia to undertake the accreditation process, which will begin in the coming weeks. The accreditation of up to seven other YMCA South Australia-managed centres is planned to follow.
Fitness Australia’s business accreditation process is among the most comprehensive and thorough available. It is aimed at elevating the business to the highest standard possible through benchmarking, and continuous improvement of systems and culture.
There are six Pillars of Quality assessed that use evidence based indicators as criteria: professionalism; customer care; safety; leadership, people and information and knowledge.
Announcing the partnership, YMCA South Australia General Manager, Andrew Mundy advised “Fitness Australia’s vision for more Australians to adopt a healthy, active lifestyle is aligned with the YMCA’s commitment to creating opportunities for people and communities to connect with a better life, so the benefits of a partnership were obvious.
“The YMCA works to provide a range of programs and services that aim to strengthen people, families and communities across South Australia and we’re looking forward to working closely with Fitness Australia to grow our impact on the health and wellbeing of the community.”
Fitness Australia’s business accreditation aims to establish credibility, create competitive advantages and ultimately build a better business.
As Fitness Australia Chief Executive Bill Moore advises “having the Y be the first South Australian business to implement our Quality Accreditation Program across the state is ground-breaking.
“Not only will their communities benefit from this program, but local Councils and health professionals should feel confident in the improved standards of exercise services and level of safety that comes with it.”
“It’s exciting that the Y will be taking the standard of their facilities to the next level to ultimately improve connections to their communities.”
Fitness Australia exists to empower over 24,000 AusREPs and 3,000 fitness business owners to engage Australians in quality health and fitness services.
It is committed to leading, supporting and growing an innovative fitness industry that embraces knowledge sharing, professionalism and high standards of customer care and service.
