read moreThe Australian Swim Schools Association (ASSA) will be presenting its 2022 National Conference next week not only as an in-person event but also as its first ever hybrid event.
Being staged alongside the SPLASH! Expo at the Gold Coast Conference and Exhibition Centre from 21st to 23rd June, the hybrid conference will allow swim school communities across the country and around the world the opportunity to dial in and join the event from the comfort of their own home or workplace.
Mindful of global interest in Australian aquatics, ASSA Conference will also be offering translation services for the first time with virtual attendees will have the option to tune in to the sessions in either English, Spanish or Portuguese - with an interpreting company engaged to ensure the process runs smoothly. There will also be two translators throughout the conference as well as an additional team to support editing and post-production.
With its 2020 and 2021 conferences e held online, ASSA’s first in-person event since COVID shutdowns has already attracted more than 370 in person delegate registrations, which the body expects to climb to 500 as of next weeks.
There are also few hundred online attendees from 16 different countries registered to attend.
Looking forward to the conference, ASSA General Manager, Emily McNeill commented “after holding virtual events over the past two years, we are excited to be back in person this year while also welcoming those who could not physically join us through the hybrid event format we are rolling out for the first time.
“This is going to be our largest conference to date and we look forward to welcoming industry members and dignitaries to the three day event.”
Explaining the addition of translation services, she added “it’s our priority to remain as accessible and inclusive as we possibly can be and by streaming our sessions in three different languages we are inviting new communities to get involved and gain maximum value from this event.
“The expertise and insight of our international members helps ASSA continue to grow and drive best practice throughout the swim school industry on both a national and global scale and we look forward to welcoming them to the event.”
