read moreLeading digital screen technology company Big Screen Video (BSV) has installed a first-of-its kind 360-degree wrap-around LED screen in Australia - delivering an unprecedented audiovisual experience at Adelaide’s Arkaba Hotel.
With a circumference of 12.8 metres and capable of showing up to six events at once, the ground-breaking curved design is the first in Australia to feature high-definition screens tapering at an angle creating a funnel effect ensuring viewers never miss a beat of the action wherever they are in the venue.
Custom designed by BSV’s research team for the Hurley Hotel Group (HHG), the screen ‘floats’ above the main bar of the recently renovated Sportys bar at the Arkaba, creating an eye-catching focal point for patrons.
Advising that the screen is a demonstration of the company’s focus on innovation, research and development and pushing the boundaries to deliver industry-leading entertainment solutions that bring spaces to life, BSV Chief Executive, Paul Ellery stated “the design is unique and the custom curve is the only one of its type in an Australian venue.
“Viewers will enjoy 360-degree sport viewing from any angle of the bar, including the balcony, and the pixel pitch chosen provides crystal clear picture even up close, with no broadcast altered or warped.
“BSV has a long relationship with the Hurley Hotel Group so we wanted to create a statement piece befitting of the Sportys’ reputation as a destination of choice for sport-hungry fans in South Australia.
“We are thrilled with the outcome which we believe will provide a memorable experience for patrons seeking the best live action on the highest-quality screens available.”
BSV provided a full turn-key solution for the HHG including design, manufacture, installation and engineering certification. The project involved BSV’s R&D teams in Adelaide and the Gold Coast, Australia and Shenzen, China.
The screen was unveiled to the public for the first time on 8th December.
BSV has installed multiple screens as part of the Arkaba’s renovation including a huge internal wall-mounted screen (5.5m x 2.6m) and beer garden screen (2.5m x 1.5m) in Sportys, a feature screen (3.5m x 2.5m) in the Top of the Ark function space, and new outdoor signage (4.9m x 2.56m).
BSV is Australia’s largest supplier and installer of LED screens across the out-of-home, hospitality and sports markets completing five projects a week across Australia, US, New Zealand and Asia.
