UNSW FAC includes expansive health and wellness facilities, an indoor 50-metre swimming pool, indoor stadium and squash courts, and a myriad of flexible programming spaces.
The reopened facility will provide a revitalised, friendly and vibrant Campus Life experience for UNSW’s 66,000 students and staff, as well as the nearby Kensington and Randwick communities.
The UNSW FAC will focus on building the diversity of its community with an emphasis on inclusivity and accessibility. Technological integration and social sport programs will be features of the delivery making the facility appealing to all members of the UNSW community.
UNSW’s sporting teams will be welcomed back to the centre, which will retain its role as the home of a rich assortment of clubs and societies at the University.
UNSW’s Vice-President Finance and Operations, Andrew Walters said he is excited to have the Clublinks team onboard and notes “we were seeking an experienced operator who understands the value of participation and community and will provide an affordable and vibrant offering that align with our community’s needs. The fitness and aquatic centre is a key part of our students’ campus experience, and we are delighted to partner with Clublinks to bring the centre back to life.”
Clublinks Chief Executive, Anthony Lawrence is thrilled by the opportunity to manage such a significant facility, further enhancing Clublinks’ presence in the University sector.
Lawrence adds “It’s a privilege to be given the opportunity to partner with a client of UNSW’s standing and to manage such a prominent sporting precinct. We look forward to creating outstanding experiences for all students, staff and the surrounding community.”
The UNSW FAC will reopen its doors with full access from 30th January 2021.
The UNSW Fitness and Aquatic Centre joins Clublinks’ growing list of sport and leisure facilities including Deakin University Sport and Recreation facilities, Moore Park Golf, Centennial Parklands Sports Centre, Bingara Gorge Golf Course, Toodyay Recreation Centre, Centenary Park Golf Course, Collier Park Golf Course and The Cut Golf Course.
