read moreThe Tasmania JackJumpers have revealed design for their $15 million high-performance centre, to be located at the Kingborough Sports Precinct south of Hobart.
Set to become the heart of the club’s operations upon completion, the state-of-the-art facility, spanning approximately 5,500 square metres, has been designed to consolidate the club’s training, administration.
With the Kingston site announced in May, replacing previous plans to build it at Wilkinsons Point in Glenorchy, development will include the demolition of the existing car club track and sheds for the construction of a training court, health facilities and administration areas.
The facility, which has advanced to the Development Application stage through the Kingborough Council, is expected to serve as the heart of the JackJumpers’ operations, supporting the club’s strategic goals and reinforcing its commitment to both elite performance and community engagement.
Highlighting the broader vision for the precinct, Tasmanian Minister for Sports and Events, Nick Duigan, advised that it is poised to transform into a “central recreational hub” for Tasmania.
It follows the announcement earlier this week Tasmania Devils AFL licence will establish its $70 million high-performance centre adjacent to the JackJumpers’ facility, fostering a concentrated sports infrastructure in the area.
The development application will be advertised for two weeks, with hopes that the site could gain approval before Christmas.
