FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup 2025 prioritises carbon footprint

FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup 2025 prioritises carbon footprint
April 4, 2025

The eighth edition of the FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup 2025 and fourth consecutive in Singapore, concluded at the Singapore Sport Hub last weekend.

Building on the success of previous initiatives, the FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup 2025 continued to prioritise the event’s carbon footprint – continuing to champion sustainability efforts and set new standards for the world’s fastest growing urban team sport.

FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup 2025 introduced a series of eco-friendly initiatives for players and fans alike.

This year’s event saw 100% of fans use public transport to reach the venue. Pre-loaded EZ-Link cards were given to coaches, National Federations, players, volunteers, officials, and media – with almost 1,000 issued in total. This initiative significantly reduced reliance on private vehicles, minimising carbon emissions, a testament to the event's commitment to reducing its carbon footprint.

FIBA 3x3 Managing Director Alex Sanchez shared "we are incredibly grateful to Singapore and all the partners for putting sustainability at the heart of the FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup 2025. These collaborative efforts with hosts ensure 3x3 basketball events leave a lasting community impact and inspire future generations of young sports fans to set new standards.”
