Grant Connors moves from ARV to Belgravia Leisure
July 9, 2019

Grant Connors, Chief Executive of Aquatics and Recreation Victoria, has been appointed to the role of Area Manager for Belgravia Leisure’s Moonee Valley City Council contract.

Connors joins Belgravia Leisure to re-connect with facility management having influenced a significant operational and strategic shift at ARV. During his time with the body, he was responsible for membership growth, program development and successfully securing a multi-year government grant has influenced both growth and financial sustainability.

Prior to his role with ARV, Connors managed multiple aquatic facilities in the private swim school sector in both Victoria and Queensland, holding various roles within accounting, finance and sales in the private sector.

Connors also sits on a number of industry advisory groups including the board of peak body the Australian Leisure Facilities Association, the National Aquatic Industry Committee and holds a number of other advisory roles for state departments.

Announcing the new appointment, Belgravia Leisure Chief Executive, Nick Cox stated “Grant is a great fit for our organisation, bringing strong leadership, sound financial understanding and highly skilled stakeholder relations with a history of building strong relationships and leading teams”.

“Having quality, local leaders working closely with our contract partners is paramount to our success in truly connecting community to leisure.”

Welcoming his new role, Connors advised “I really thrive off leading teams and driving organisational culture and feel the time is right to join Belgravia Leisure as it continues to be Australia’s fastest growing leisure organisation, allowing me to grow professionally and expand on my passion within the leisure industry.”

This appointment is important for the Belgravia Leisure team as they continue to build a strong network of industry leaders to support the continued growth of the business.

Cox added “as we look ahead, it’s pleasing to know that we have an excellent Victorian Leadership Team who will work tirelessly with our staff and communities to ensure they are safe, healthy and engaged in our programs and services.”
