read moreFormer Australian professional downhill mountain bike racer Rhys Willemse has joined forces with Sunshine Coast powerlifter Jacob Lavender to open a new S30 Studio in Maroochydore.
Offering a fully-immersive nightclub-style experience, S30 Marochydore's progression-based training program features a collection of strength and conditioning hybrid classes. Each class sees members work up a sweat and helps them build towards their fitness goals as they power through 30 sets, across 18 stations, in under 45 minutes.
Opened at the end of May, the new location marks S30’s second Queensland studio, following on from the opening of Mermaid Beach in late 2022 which is co-owned and run by retired Brisbane Broncos player, Jordan Kahu.
Following the appointment of former Fitstop APAC Chief Executive, Alan Myers as Head of Operations, the new studio marks the start of the brand’s planned expansion in Queensland with the establishment of a Brisbane HQ.
Commenting on the opening of S30 Maroochydore, S30 Chief Executive and co-founder, Luke Faulkner advised “S30 Maroochydore is the start of an exciting journey for our studios in Queensland, as we begin our rapid expansion in the region. We’re thrilled to have Rhys and Jacob join us in opening our first studio in the Sunshine Coast and build our existing footprint across Brisbane and the Gold Coast to truly create a fitness experience like no other for Queensland locals to enjoy.”
S30 Maroochydore’s Willemse added “since my early years as a professional downhill mountain bike racer, my passion for training has remained steadfast.
“With the opening of S30 in Maroochydore, we aim to deliver a truly unique training experience to people in the Sunshine Coast and support a positive movement in a world where every person is excited to train.”
S30 credits its success to its strong foundations to its being accountable and inclusive while offering a fun environment and working as a community.
The vision of ‘creating a world where everybody is excited to train’ sees the brand moving away from the stigma associated with group fitness to create a unique fitness experience.
