California Sports Surfaces' CSS CoolTop system has been installed by the Aertex Group at Palmerston netball and tennis courts.

Around 1000 participants from the Palmerston Netball Association and Tennis Palmerston will benefit from the fully refurbished playing surfaces with the completion of a $450,000 upgrade to the club’s facilities.

The CSS CoolTop system has four layers of materials that go above the original surface and provide slip resistance and are non-glare. The surface also has a cool top system that has a 20 to 30% higher solar reflective rating to help the courts retain less heat and reduce surface temperatures.

The Northern Territory Government continues to back sport in the community and invest in improving facilities at a grassroots level.

The Northern Territory Government has a strong track record of investing in sports infrastructure including the $2.6 million upgrade of the Arafura Stadium athletics track at Marrara and $2.97 million towards the construction of oval lights at Gunbalanya and Kalkarindji.

NT Sport Minister Kate Worden notes “Sport at a grass roots level plays an important role in bringing our communities together as well as improving our health and mental well being.

“The upgrades to the Palmerston netball and tennis courts give so many participants of all ages a better and more comfortable facility.

“By investing in infrastructure and offering $6 million under the Sports Voucher Scheme we are encouraging all Territorians to stay active and participate in sport."
