Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre will be hosting upwards of 600 Sydneysiders participating in the 2022 Sydney MS Mega Swim event held for 24 hours across Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th May 2022 and aiming to raise funds, awareness and support for Australians Living with multiple sclerosis (MS).

The MS Mega Challenge event series is one of the fastest growing community events in Australia with thousands taking part in regional, suburban, and metro events each year. Participants come together to raise vital funds that directly benefit people living with multiple sclerosis.

Open to all ages, backgrounds and abilities, the 2022 Sydney MS Mega Swim is a fun team relay event raising valuable funds for people living with multiple sclerosis. The 2022 Sydney MS Mega Swim event aims to raise $250,000, with funds raised going towards the MS Go For Gold Scholarships, Financial Assistance Programs and providing services to directly benefit people living with multiple sclerosis.

MS Go for Gold Scholarships are awarded to people living with multiple sclerosis who wish to achieve a dream. Scholarships are awarded in the categories of education, arts, travel, music, employment, and lifestyle and wellbeing.

Melanie Caple, Artist and 2020 Go for Gold Award Recipient 2020 advises “MS Go for Gold Scholarship has allowed me the opportunity to update my computer and illustration software, so that I can draw digitally instead of having to create everything from scratch in a laborious way. Being awarded a scholarship was like a dream come true.”

The annual Sydney MS Mega Swim event in Sydney organised in conjunction with community hosts, The Rotary Club of Sydney and committee members Mark, Glen and Roni and the team at Multiple Sclerosis Limited.

Along with taking on the role as community hosts for the 2022 Sydney MS Mega Swim The Rotary Club of Sydney will be running the onsite MS Café across the event, as well as entering a team of swimmers for the 24-hour period, named the Rotary Tumble Turns.

Mark Dyer, Sydney Rotary Club President adds “The Rotary Club of Sydney is proud of our association with MS Limited and the support they provide to Australians living with MS. The annual MS Mega Swim at Sydney Olympic Aquatic Pool is a wonderful opportunity for Sydney Rotarians to join the MS community to raise funds so no one faces MS alone.”
