Sydney Olympic Park Business Association Chief Executive highlights recent events
March 4, 2024

Sydney Olympic Park Business Association Chief Executive Allison Taylor has highlighted the recent events held at the Park and congratulated everyone associated with their success.

The success of the Taylor Swift l The Eras Tour, back-to-back over four consecutive nights at Accor Stadium, along with the two nights of blink-182 happening concurrently at Qudos Bank Arena were highlighted by Taylor who shared “it was a huge week at Sydney Olympic Park, not to mention the hours and months of planning to deliver these events. It takes immense collaboration from multiple teams and across government and the private sector to deliver at this level, and of course, great fans.”

390,000 people were in Sydney Olympic Park over four nights delivering a significant economic boost for Sydney, NSW, and Australia.

With Autumn now here, Taylor added “this means we on the cusp of the Sydney Royal Easter Show, an event that hosts over 800,000 people over twelve wonderful days and nights, every year!

“A time when the country comes to the city and we have the opportunity to engage with so many aspects of the work and achievements of our regional communities, educate our children, be close to animals, taste test some of the finest produce available, experience fabulous entertainment, and, have a wonderful and fun time.”

Last week saw the NSW Minister for Planning approve the commencement of Parramatta Light Rail Stage 2, with a $200 million investment to fast track the project’s planning process.

Taylor noted “The Sydney Olympic Park Business Association has been advocating for this crucial piece of transport infrastructure for almost ten years, and although it seemed at many times that we may have been fighting an uphill battle, we never gave up.  Likewise, our good friends and partners at Business Western Sydney, who played an important role in this advocacy win where transport infrastructure will finally happen for residents across the Olympic Peninsula, and allow for much needed, future housing.

“Still a way to go before the trams are running down the tracks but seeing them being tested across the route for Parramatta Light Rail 1 is encouraging.”
