Greater Shepparton City Council opens applications for Sporting Future Grant Program
February 26, 2025

Greater Shepparton City Council has opened their Sporting Future Grant Program with funding available to support development projects and programs which promote sports across Greater Shepparton.

Council is inviting community sport organisations to apply for a share of the funding pool, which is available across the following four categories:

  • Sports Aid up to $5,000
  • Junior and Youth Participation up to $5,000
  • Women and Girls up to $10,000
  • Minor category up to $13,000, matching $1 for $1 with an in-kind component available

This grant program is designed to assist community sport organisations with small to medium-sized facility development projects and to foster growth in emerging sports throughout the region.

Mayor Shane Sali, highlighted the fantastic opportunity for local clubs and organisations to improve their facilities and support the growth of emerging sports in Greater Shepparton noting “Investing in grassroots sport strengthens our communities, encourages participation, and enhances the sporting experience for players, volunteers, and spectators alike.

“I encourage all eligible clubs to apply and take advantage of this funding to help build a stronger and more inclusive sporting future for our region.”

Applications will be accepted until 5.00pm on Monday 31st March 2025. Council strongly encourages applicants to contact Council’s Sporting Clubs Officer (Program Coordinator) to discuss proposed activities and eligibility requirements before submitting an application. Organisations/groups can only receive funding in one category per round.
