read moreThe Sports and Play Industry Association (SAPIA) has launched a new edition of its Code of Practice for the Installation and Maintenance of Impact Attenuating Surfacing Systems for Playgrounds.
First released in 2018, SAPIA has consistently aimed to get the document into the hands of as many specifiers in order to ensure the selection of appropriate systems and surfaces, forming a useful reference in the design and construction process.
In a statement explaining the change, SAPIA advised “since the release of the SAPIA Code of Practice for Impact Attenuating Surfacing Systems: Part 1 (Wet Pour Rubber) in 2018, we have been planning an update to include information relevant to other softfall types, including artificial grass, natural turf, loose fill, unitary products and multi-layered unitary systems.
“We are excited to announce that as well as those inclusions, this May 2023 edition addresses best practice guidelines on infill migration mitigation, shade and end of life options.”
SAPIA, which fosters excellence, professionalism and continuous improvement throughout the sports and play construction industry, in order to provide the high quality facilities publishes its Codes in order to increase awareness among decision makers of the importance of engaging with SAPIA members.
