State and territory gymnastics chief executives come together

State and territory gymnastics chief executives come together
February 28, 2024
Sport /

Gymnastics Australia interim Chief Executive Chris O’Brien has combined with the state and territory chief executives to collaborate on the health of the sport going forward.

Following the recent departure of Alexandra Ashe after less than two years as Chief Executive, across the two days, the team focused on determining and establishing a workplan for gymnastics in Australia’s priorities as we head towards Brisbane 2032.

Two key operational deliverables for the group are the review and update of the coach education framework and the implementation of the new customer relationship management (CRM) system.

Both initiatives are designed to improve the experiences of the broader gymnastics community and discussion centred on how collaboration can provide value to those involved in the sport around the country.

Refinements to the Fundamental Gymnastics Coach Accreditation are on track to be delivered in early March.

O’Brien stated “it was a very positive few days as each organisation continues to work collaboratively to ensure the success of the sport.

“It was fantastic to receive an update from the key leads of the coach education framework and CRM projects, as well as the group identifying key projects for the future.

“This year being an Olympic year, and Australia having the Brisbane 2032 Games on the horizon, makes it an extremely exciting time for gymnastics, and working closely with each of the state and territory bodies will allow us to make the most of the opportunities in front of us.”

The group will continue to work collaboratively and closely as we look to align initiatives and work together to deliver key outcomes for athletes, clubs, workforce and community.
