read moreFast growing boutique gym, One Playground, has launched semi-private Reformer Pilates at its new wellness destination, Urban Oasis, in Sydney’s Surry Hills.
As part of its offerings, One Playground is delivering a program designed specifically for pre-natal clients. Designed to nurture the physical well-being of expecting mothers, this program provides a safe, customised environment that promotes optimal health and recovery. With a focus on providing personalised feedback and support, the program will bridge the gap between private coaching and traditional group training, offering an affordable middle ground.
Why Choose Semi-Private Pilates as an Expectant Mother?
One Playground’s semi-private Pilates sessions combine expert instruction with the supportive environment of a small group (maximum six participants), allowing clients to experience the benefits of personalised attention while sharing the experience with others on a similar journey. The sessions are tailored towards outcome-based programming, with each program running for eight weeks. With the classes following a program that builds week-on-week, this ensures progressive overload and the development of new skills. These specialised Pilates sessions focus on building core strength, improving posture, and enhancing flexibility, all while ensuring safe movements for both pre-natal clients.
Claudia Howard, Head of Wellness at One Playground noted “our goal is to offer a supportive and inclusive space where both expecting mothers can take care of their physical and mental health.
“Our semi-private sessions provide an opportunity to connect with others on a similar journey while receiving expert guidance tailored to each individual’s needs.”
The benefits of Pilates during pregnancy are vast, including reduced back pain, improved posture, better circulation, pelvic floor strength, and mental relaxation. Howard explains “each session is designed to ensure that each workout is safe and effective, with adjustments made based on individual needs and comfort levels. Our pre-natal program provides a comprehensive approach to fitness and wellness, ensuring that you strengthen your body before childbirth for optimal recovery”.
One Playground also offers two semi-private programs, Align and Tone, which are well-suited to new mothers as they focus on building core strength, rehabilitating major muscle groups and promoting flexibility, which are particularly important after childbirth. These classes can be easily tailored for new mothers with just a few minor adjustments.
