Australian gymnastics leaders unite to action INSPIRE 2032 strategy
November 21, 2024

Australian Gymnastics State and Territory Presidents along with the national Board of Directors recently attended a joint forum in Melbourne where they agreed to unite in actioning the INSPIRE 2032 national gymnastics strategy.

The two-day forum, formally known as the Joint Director’s and President’s meeting is a key governance function for gymnastics in Australia. It is an opportunity for the leaders of the sport to come together, share insights and feedback from members and identify opportunities to collaborate and align.

Items on the agenda included membership data and insights, future event delivery, high performance planning, governance, education, and joint implementation of the national gymnastics strategy.

Sam Offord, President Gymnastics Australia advised "this meeting was another important milestone, bringing together voices from across the nation. These meetings have gained a lot of momentum over the last 12 months and it was great to share ideas and challenge our thinking over two days together.

"By working together as one, we are ensuring that we are moving forward as a united ecosystem to bring to life a strategy that reflects the needs of our gymnastics community and drives meaningful outcomes."

Jo Marshall, President Gymnastics South Australia added "this weekend highlighted the value of national teamwork and our shared commitment to working closely with Gymnastics Australia and other states. Together we are united and determined to bring our Inspire 2032 vision to life for every person in our amazing community."

Gymnastics Australia will now work together with State and Territory staff to develop an action plan with clear priorities and service offerings. Some of the key strategic priorities outlined in INSPIRE 2032 are:

  • Work in partnership with our State and Territory Associations to implement new delivery models that improve the efficiency and quality of our services
  • Continually seek to understand and improve the experiences we offer our members
  • Implement a national customer service and business development model to service our clubs
  • Refresh national frameworks and quality assurance standards to set our clubs up for success
  • Review and align the GA and STA operating model, priorities and structure
