read moreBrisbane City Council's program allowing entry to the 22 pools across the city at just $2 a visit has commenced for the summer.
Following the success of the inaugural program last year, the $2 Summer Dips program is running from 1st December until 28th February next year - encouraging people to cool off and get active over summer.
More than 660,000 pool trips were made during the highly successful 2023/24 program, which saved residents around $2.4 million in just three months.
With the Summer Dips initiative reducing pool entry for adults from up to $6.40 to $2, in December 2023 it saw a 104% year on year increase in people visiting a pool.
Introducing the initiative, City of Brisbane Lord Mayor, Adrian Schrinner stated "we know residents love $2 Summer Dips which is why we’re returning the highly successful initiative to help people stay cool for less.
“We are committed to addressing the rising cost of living while still delivering more to see and do in the suburbs and $2 Summer Dips delivers millions of dollars in savings for Brisbane households.
“There’s no limit to how any times you can save this summer, with a trip to the local pool a great way to entertain the kids, cool off or stay active.
“Last summer we had record attendance and record savings at our pools, and we’re excited to be able to bring back this cost-saving initiative for everyone to enjoy.”

On social media, City Venue Management (CVM) Chief People Officer, Nicky Sloan pointed out that CVM manage nine of the participating locations.
Praising the initiative, she wrote "thank you to our Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner and Brisbane City Council for championing this initiative.
"Your support makes it possible for us to provide accessible, affordable, and impactful aquatic experiences for everyone in Brisbane."
