read moreA record attendance has been reported for this year’s AusFitness Expo and Industry Trade Show and Summit, held at ICC Sydney from 11th to 13th October.
Shaun Krenz, co-founder and Director of the event enthused "this year's AusFitness Expo and Industry has set a new benchmark in the fitness event space. With almost 20,000 attendees, we're not just meeting expectations - we're setting them.
“This event is a testament to the vibrant and resilient spirit of the fitness community, showcasing the incredible potential for growth and innovation in the industry. The event is well and truly back where it was at pre the chaos of 2020.”
Australians spend around $3.5 billion annually on fitness clubs and gyms and around $8.5 billion on fitness in general. These numbers are projected to get significantly higher in the coming years, and AusFitness Expo gives consumers the opportunity to explore the latest in sports, workouts, fitness equipment, nutrition and activewear.
Highlights of AusFitness Expo
This year's AusFitness Expo has been described as “a celebration of health, fitness and body power”.
This year, nine sporting events were held for spectators to enjoy along with workouts with celebrity trainers, a chance to get onto the Search4Hurt TV show, sporting and fitness stars to meet and new innovative products to discover.
Some of the highlights:
Troy Sachs OAM PLY World Record Attempt: Troy Sachs is a five-time Paralympian and two-time gold medallist. His goal was to set the world record for the fastest 50 km treadmill run for a below-the-knee amputee. Troy did beat the time; the Guinness team now needs to review the footage to make it official. Troy was running to raise awareness of The Ree Foundation, which is on a mission to radically shift perceptions about what people with a disability can do and to foster and deliver programs that increase inclusion and opportunity for those with a disability who currently fall through the gaps.
Sporting events: The Expo featured a showstopping Strongman event, 50 x boxing matches, the CrossFit Expo Games, Street Lifting and Calisthenics and ICN Muscle and Model Competition.
Fitness Stars: Moses Leota and James Fisher-Harris from the Penrith Panthers came out to support Papa Macros and meet and greet fans. Australian Body Building Icons, including Calum Von Moger, who attended with Bucked Up and Lee Priest, who attended with Papa Macros.
New and Innovative Products: There were many innovative products including the likes of Powerflex , Bloody Good Tests, Blazepod, Breathease, Electric Flow Wellbeing to name a few.
Highlights of AusFitness Industry Trade Show and Summit
AusFitness Industry Trade Show & Summit was a two-day experience for those in the fitness industry. It's where local and international fitness brands and innovators come together to discover the latest innovations in the exercise and wellness space, get free education for their teams, network and grow their business.
This year, there were over 50 presentations featuring some of the most successful thought leaders of the fitness community. Here are some stats from the 2024 event.
Local Suppliers
Local suppliers were well represented at this year’s trade show with Body Bike, Ezypay, HF industries, Leisure Concepts Australia, Life Fitness Australia, MyZone and Perfect Gym among those on the floor.
Body Bike: Introduced their new Body Bike SMART+ Phantom which is rolling out across Australia and New Zealand. The new Body Bike SMART+ Phantom has the potential to steer indoor cycling into a whole new era.
On the Trade Show experience, Smith enthused "an awesome two days. Thank you to all the trade customers, current and future, who came to see our range. Showcasing our new BODY BIKE SMART+ Phantom was a highlight. The response has been fantastic and the feedback on how Phantom rides was nothing short of amazing.
Body Bike are featured on the latest issue of Australasian Leisure Management with Smith adding "we handed out 120 BB water bottles and copies of the latest Australasian Leisure Management issue 164, with BB on the cover."
Ezypay: A leading subscription payments and direct debit provider in Asia Pacific, helping businesses of all sizes power their regular billing were enthusiastic about the Trade show sharing "It's been incredible hanging out with our partners Hapana, Xoda and Active World Solutions at AusFitness Expo 2024. Great to work with such influential, change-making businesses in the health and fitness space. What better way to welcome a new partner into the family? We're excited to have welcomed Active World to the crew - it's great to have you on board."
HF Industries: Supplier of Commercial and Home use equipment, Pilates, Cardio Equipment, Strength Equipment, Weights, Accessories, Virtual Fitness and more had a number of their Balanced Body reformers on display at this year’s show for many of the attendees to experience. Chris Skinner, Managing Director of HF Industries, a supplier of Balanced Body equipment since 1996, was on the floor to meet existing and potential clients.
Perfect Gym Solutions: A software as a service (SaaS) solution purpose-built to service the fitness industry, with over 1000 clients servicing over two million gym members across 40 countries, had their team on the trade show floor who enthused about the show's "great energy".
Leisure Concepts Australia: Introduced their new product Skelcore which embodies the core essence of human fitness – protecting your SKELeton while building your CORE strength. Their extensive product range encompasses strength, weights and cardio.
Life Fitness Australia: Promoted their new Symbio Runner Treadmill as well as the new Hammer Strength Hack Squat and shared "it was fantastic for our team to meet so many new faces and reconnect with familiar ones at our stand. Thank you to everyone who stopped by - we loved sharing our passion for innovative fitness solutions with you.
Australasian Leisure Management: The team were on the floor throughout the trade show catching up with long time supporters and finding out about new products.
Debut Brands
Additionally, 2024 saw many brands debut in Australia this year, which has internationalised the show in the eyes of equipment manufacturers.

This smart scale is perfect for gyms aiming to incorporate advanced tech and provide members with detailed, real-time insights into their health and fitness progress.
Panatta: Italian Craftsmanship Meets Fitness Innovation Panatta showcased its expertly crafted fitness solutions at AusFitness Industry, from customisable machines that fit any gym’s style to the sophisticated ROSSOPURO cardio line. Each piece is designed to blend seamless functionality with aesthetic appeal, elevating the workout experience.
Gym80: Strength Training Perfected Gym80 presented its 'Pure Kraft' series, combining traditional weight training's durability with the precision and comfort of modern machinery. Customisable options allow gyms to reflect their unique brand through bespoke equipment setups.
Watson UK: World-Class Strength Training Watson, known for the world's best dumbbells, displayed its commitment to durability and tailored gym solutions at AusFitness Industry. Their equipment offers customisation that meets the specific needs of both personal and commercial setups, backed by a lifetime warranty.
Skelcore USA: Stylish, Functional Fitness Gear Skelcore introduced its stylish and functional strength machines, designed to meet diverse fitness requirements. Their presence at AusFitness Industry highlighted their commitment to innovative and holistic fitness solutions.
Newtech Wellness: Joe Weider’s Choice Newtech Wellness showcased its state-of-the-art gym equipment at AusFitness Industry, featuring biomechanically optimised designs favoured by professional athletes across major sports. Their commitment to safety and performance makes their gear ideal for all fitness levels.
Gymleco: Swedish Innovation in Fitness Gymleco brought their heritage of durable, functional, and space-efficient gym equipment to AusFitness Industry, emphasising their commitment to quality and sustainable design in fitness gear.
Lexco: Quality Korean Fitness Equipment Lexco also graced the event, demonstrating the strength and cardio solutions that have made them a respected name in the global fitness market.
