read moreSports Environment Alliance (SEA) has advised of the election of two Directors, Fiona Young and Neil Dalrymple, following its recent AGM.
SEA advise that Dalrymple, a returning director and Young, elected for the first time, “bring extensive leadership experience in sport, community engagement and environmental sustainability” and that “they will further SEA's focus on environmental leadership and advocacy in the sports industry.”
Young joins the board with over 20 years in the sport and not-for-profit sectors having had expertise in leading large-scale projects, implementing strategic frameworks, and managing stakeholder relationships to achieve organisational objectives.
She is the Places to Play Manager at Tennis Victoria, was the former Chief Executive of Squash and Racquetball Victoria and has held leadership positions in netball and golf.
SEA advise “Fiona’s experience and commitment to sport and the environment will complement those of the Board as it continues to lead, educate the huge variety of organisations that make up the broad Australian sport system.”
Dalrymple has been re-elected to the Board after serving his first three-year term. In that time hehas been an active contributor to strategic and policy discussion and was a member of the Nominations Committee which managed the appointment of new SEA Chief Executive Adam Cheyne.
Dalrymple has held senior leadership roles in sport including Chief Executive of Bowls Australia and more recently Chief Executive of World Bowls.
Commenting on the elections, SEA Chair, Margot Foster stated “we’re delighted to welcome Fiona for the first time and Neil for the second time to the SEA Board.
“Their combined experience and passion for sustainability and sport will be instrumental in our continued efforts to encourage responsible environmental stewardship by the sports sector. With their support, the Board and SEA Team, look forward to continuing to promote SEA’s mission with deep and lasting effect.
“I have no doubt that the Board, comprising Cam Vale, Amie Wallis, Cassandra Hadson, Sheila Nguyen, Melanie Robertson and Kieran Power will be delighted with Neil’s return and the addition of Fiona with the many strengths she brings”.
Foster also thanked retiring Director Sandra Loader for her commitment to SEA over the past six years.
